Ghirardelli Chocolate

Originated from San Francisco, California, Ghirardelli Square is the company’s original chocolate factory, which has become a landmark of SF today.  Located just beside the Fisherman’s Wharf, the Ghirardelli Square is surrounded by fun vibes from the bay area, with positive energy that is very fun, laid back and relaxing.

Therefore, this project wanted to mimic the similar sense of fun, to have vibes that are energising to look at. An interactive feature like the presence of chocolate dispenser is designed to create an interaction between the product and customers. The main colours being used is blue and brown, specifically selected to create a stronger branding for Ghirardelli. By keeping the interior minimal and clean, the products will be able to stand out more as the interior design acts as a medium to enhance the products of Ghirardelli, and to attract customers by its design features.

CONCEPT:

Chocolate is considered as a decadent luxury: the flavour, texture and liquefying experience are what best describe the experience of eating chocolate.

the word 'LIQUIFY' means a state or transformation from solid to liquid. This inspires the design to have smooth edges and curves to represent the smoothness of Ghirardelli’s high-quality chocolate when it liquefies. Other than that, it also hints customers of Ghirardelli's first chocolate factory that is located in the bay area.
